Take Care is the forthcoming single from RELIC artist, Clifford. The track is a direct product of frustration; however you would not be able to recognise this when listening to the song. Formed through disappointment, Take Care was found through a single guitar sample. Acting as a perpetual force, the sample’s power and weight feels as though it carries gravitational force; pulling and surrounding itself with resonating rhythm and emotional qualities. Samples echo words of faith; whilst Clifford tries to focus on the spirit of human faith. To tie this all together, Jonah Eli puts in a performance that feels innate to the instrumentation of the track. Words of independence and existence with a combined notion of feeling astray.

On the B-Side, Aught changes the space. The driving rhythm alters the shape of Take Care; however Aught retains the emotional balance. Finding the ultra sweet spot of a melancholic dance song. A truly unique sound that hugely contrasts with the original piece, but feels so welcome to the listening experience.

Take Care is the first of two singles from Clifford’s sophomore EP Idler. Idler focuses on passive epiphanies. Songs that arrived into existence by chance. “In my most idle moments, I reach for the studio and float through sounds. The flow seems so passive. Take Care in particular was the direct product of active music production going wrong. Frustration at missing my imaginative goals led me to find a completely different experience.“ There are many more sounds to be heard very very soon…
